Since its founding by Pam Bartlett MBE in 1985, Guernsey Jumbulance Holidays has run annual trips taking groups of people with special needs on holiday.
The holidays have historically alternated between a pilgrimage to Lourdes in France one year and a trip to a different destination the next. To find out more about how we run our holidays, head to the 'Holidays' page. More information on our previous trips, together with photos of the groups, can be found under the 'Previous Trips' page.
Every year we have to raise about £30,000 to fund a holiday. To reach this target we run a number of events throughout the year, including a quiz, a race night, and other ad-hoc events.
If you would like to help us to continue our work then please either support us at one of our fundraising events or we are always grateful to receive donations large or small. Please contact us via the details on the 'Contact' page for further information.
A Jumbulance is a coach-come-ambulance which has eight stretcher beds, a small kitchen, toilet facilities and resuscitation gear, all of which makes life a lot easier for everyone to travel long distances.
There are several Jumbulances which are stationed in Birmingham and Scotland, and all groups (throughout the UK) hire a Jumbulance at around £950 per day (including two experienced drivers and the cost of fuel).
